About This Spot

Tucked quietly along the sun-kissed shores of Drios, Taverna Julia offers a serene escape from the island’s more bustling corners. Here, the pace slows as the gentle waves provide a natural soundtrack to an unhurried afternoon or evening. The tavern feels like a homegrown secret—modest in appearance but rich in character, where simplicity blends seamlessly with heartfelt hospitality.

As you settle into a table shaded by the soft glow of the setting sun, the ocean’s fresh breeze carries the faint aroma of herbs and grilled freshness. The mood is relaxed and unpretentious, inviting you to linger over each bite and every sip without rush. It’s a space where locals and travelers meet quietly, drawn by the ease of sharing authentic flavors and casual conversation.

The menu here doesn’t shout; it whispers stories of the sea and the land in every dish. Expect to find yourself savoring tender grilled fish freshly caught in nearby waters or delighting in the delicate balance of fried zucchini and gently spiced small squid. The flavors feel honest—rooted in tradition but prepared with a subtle attentiveness that honors each ingredient’s natural beauty.

The warmth of the staff blends effortlessly with the calm surroundings, making every visit feel like being welcomed into an old friend’s home by the water. And when the day's meal draws to a close, there’s the gentle temptation to dip your toes into the nearby sea, a quiet ritual that harmonizes perfectly with the overall experience.

For those seeking a genuine slice of local life on Paros, where food, place, and people come together without pretense, Taverna Julia offers a thoughtful, grounded encounter that lingers long after the last bite.

Best food, stunning location. Friendly staff. The fried shrimps, Julia’s salad, the sardines beautiful. 100% recommend, you can also have a dip in the ocean after.

Julia's served us by far the best taramasalata of the trip. Perhaps the best I've ever had. Their Greek salad was good too, made all the better by swapping out feta for some tasty local soft cheese. Sardines were also excellent (though the fact their heads were removed says a lot about the type of tourists coming to Paros these days). The only disappointment was the octopus, which was too firm to be enjoyable. Shame because it was fresh and well presented. Service was excellent and you won't find a nicer sea view.

We stayed in Drios and this was by far our favorite restaurant on the island. They have tables right by the water and it’s not super busy which gives it a more local feel. The food was delicious and fairly priced as well (if you get the Greek salad, you must have it with the local soft cheese instead of the feta!) The customer service was also amazing, we really fell in love with the place. We even had to come back before leaving Paros because we had such a positive experience on our first night. Highly recommend!

Nice tavern overlooking ocean. Fair prices, good food. Fried zucchini was excellent, and fries were not frozen! The tsipoura was great! My son enjoyed his meatballs! This plate can be shared if your child has a small appetite! Worth 2 visits at least. Order ice cream for dessert.

quintessential greek island tavern: great simple food, fresh fish (we had a fresh grilled dorade and the sun dried makrel), well executed classics, the kindest service and a lovely outlook. the prices are extremely correct too, I really would not know what else to ask for! Probably my favorite spot on Paros!

Great place! The food is excellent! We had an amazing fish (lavraki) the squid was also fresh! We ate everything really fast so I couldn’t take a picture. The staff is friendly and the views are spectacular!

The best dorada in my entire life ! The restaurant is on top of the beach giving an amazing view on the sea and nearby islands. There are stairs to access the beach. The staff is very nice and the food excellent

We visited the restaurant as a group of four people! We really enjoyed our lunch there! First of all the fries were not pre-fried and they were delicious! Taramosalata was excellent, dakos salad amazing (with local soft cheese instead of feta cheese). We continued with shrimps, fried calamari and sardines! All very tasty! Service was very kind and attentive! Highly recommended and I will definitely come back for another lunch there!
